Originally posted this in the wrong forum. This board is a little different. I recently performed some computer upgrades and had to unexpectedly wipe all the data off my hard drive. As a result, I had to re-download some video editing programs. I had previously used Adobe Premiere Elements 10, but I really want to use Premiere Pro CS6. It doesn't matter which one I chose though because in both programs .mov files play like audio files, videos captured from fraps seem to have some extremely slow motion audio, and some video files do not even play audio. Strangely enough, everything works in AVS Video Editor. I just don't like to use it as it's virtually a third party Windows Movie Maker. I assume this is some sort of a codec issue, but I don't know what to install. I tried installing fddshow, but that didn't solve the issue. Does anyone who has more experience with this problem have any suggestions? |

If it's just an audio problem though that often means a missing driver or codec somewhere, especially after wiping a hard drive. I would have suggested the fddshow codec first because if the videos load correctly into AVS, it probably means it's an incompatibility issue with adobe programs. Try reinstalling the programs after you have fddshow already installed. Either way, doing so sometimes doesn't help. Also, make sure the sequence and imported video settings are matched up, and if they are maybe go into the sequence/video preferences and change the FPS. (I haven't done this personally though, just something I've read) I haven't used premiere editors for all that long but from what I can tell premiere pro CS5 is better than 6. It's less confusing to me but overall I have seen similar reviews across the internet. Maybe the downgrade will be enough to solve the problem. Sometimes simple things work for unknown reasons. CS6 would crop certain MTS files for me but when I used CS5 the files imported correctly. |
