I have come to the realization that I need more people to talk to about pokemon, so I thought Id start here! Instead of having the thread go on a possible tangent (which id personally be fine with), I figured to keep this post on first generation Pokemon games for now, because majority of gamers seem to like/know them most . . . even if for nostalgic reasons.
So I guess I will start with an obvious question:
What's your favorite 1st gen pokemon and why?!

Take a wild guess... lolMy favorite city was Saffron City with Silph Co and what not. Plus Sabrina was a kick ass gym leader. -

Lol. My favorite pokemon from 1st generation is Jolteon. Followed closely by Pikachu, Raichu, and Zapdos. They are all just so fast. Im 100% electric in pokemon and it always works. Earthquake has become the bane of my existence.

Speaking of legendary Pokemon, by the end of the game, is it just me or did pretty much everyone ended up with the same six...? Your starting pokemon, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo and then some rando. -

When everyone used to play that is what happened. Most people had
articuno and zapdos, not to many moltres though. Lots of charizards.
Dragonites sometimes. It essentially became whose mewtwo survived the
first attack. Then PSYCHIC everything to death!

I would always just throw a pokeball immediately and hope it would catch it. Otherwise it'd be as frustrating as you just said haha. The only thing worse was walking through that first cave of zubats with no potions or repels.

mines Growlithe -
So many people love growlithe. Maybe if James ditched that dumb ho Jesse and focused on training his growlithe, he might have actually been successful. I recently leveled my growlithe in BW2 up to higher levels without evolving him because he learns move sets differently than arcanine. Plus you rarely are able to use an unevolved pokemon for long, but with growlithe it works a bit better.
I always used to evolve him right away though with a fire stone in the old games lol. I did that with everyone pokemon that could evolve from a stone, including pikachu, which is why I oddly hated Yellow at the time. Asshole wouldn't evolve.
