Just realized that this is coming out tomorrow. I've been so busy that I haven't had time to build up the hype in my head. I used to be a huge SimCity fan and kind of want to try the new game out to bring back some of that nostalgia. I know i'll probably play it for a few weeks and forget about it, but I think it could be worth my time.Anyone else a SimCity fan? -

I agree. EA has a horrible rep now, but their games are still alright. Sports games have a strong fan base and The Sims is amazing. Most Sim games are. Speaking of which...
Did anyone get this game and check it out yet? I was hoping to steal it from a friend.

I've spent the last couple days playing it to get a review out. The game isn't very good in comparison to Cities XL Platinum which came out last month for $30 on Steam, and the launch for the game is horrendous. I strongly recommend not buying it.
EDIT: If you're looking for a city builder though I suggest either getting the new Tropico since it has more buildings than Sim City and the city sizes are pretty much the same as Sim City or getting Cities XL because there are more building options, the road and zoning tools are better, the city size limit is like 4x as large, and Sim City's online is just taken from Cities XL anyways. Also neither Cities XL or Tropico require always online.

That is unfortunate, I really liked SimCity back in the day. Always online DRM is bullshit. -

I'm too lazy to check now but if this is true, that's a bit more worth it. SimCity is just another dying franchise though trying to keep up with modernity when people just want improved classics.
