I'm going Fantasy. It's pretty broad and can encompass a lot of different things, but I like the creativity in many fantasy games. |

Such a tough question. I spent a lot of time in my life playing shooters, but the 3 types I have played longer than any other are a Platformer, a turn-based strategy, and Fantasy. I actually don't have much experience in virtual strategy games, but they are probably my favorite type. |
Anything you've recently jumped into? |

Give me a good platformer any day! It doesn't even need to have a good story (a la Banjo Kazooie, Mario) as long as the gameplay is solid. Gimme that and I will literally never be happier while playing a video game. |

I love an RPG: MMO or not... Being connected to and invested in a character is a big deal for me. Makes the game more memorable and rewarding. |

western themed post apocalyptic games is pretty defined, how many are in that genre? |
|
I'm a little confused what we are talking about here, but in terms of mechanics my favs are FPS RPG MOBA In terms of setting Sci-Fi WWII Fantasy I'm not sure what was asked, but those are things I like about games ^^ |
|
Now i am confused.....What is mmofps,mmorts,moba,mmorpg and what is sci-fi,fantasy,racing,sport,wwii |

Lucigen broke it down right lol, because the setting can be a genre, and the play-type can be a genre. 1. MMO 2. FPS 3. MMORPG 4. MMOFPS 5. Sci fi MMORPG 6. Sci fi MMOFPS Technically I just specified 6 different genres, but only because # 1 and too are so vague. I could ask a person, what genre of video game do you like? In which they might answer: #1 (MMOs). That's a perfectly fine answer. Then I can ask, what genre of #1 do you like? In which case they might respond, Action #1s(MMOs). This scenario shows two game genres, even though they are technically the same thing. This is why the gaming industry is a bit confusing and silly at times. Like why was the term MOBA invented? What is a battle arena really? How does a MOBA in which you play on small teams of 6 for example, in multiple rounds, count as an MMO when games like Battlefield with 32v32 matches don't? Not to mention how many times you hear, "this is an MMO Action RTS.... MOBA!" It's just getting redundant at this point. The point of creating a term like MOBA is to simplify gaming terminology. Instead the terms create confusion between gaming genres. That's what I think anyway, and I obviously went off topic! |
