Like GW2, it's not even out yet, but May IS just over a month away....

Who's preordered so far? Do you think it's worth it?

I've played the older ones, although I was never obsessed over the game like many. I'll probably wait until it's released to see what people think of it. Some of things they are doing with it, sound kinda random - such as no PVP at launch, and the market that I read about in the past.

Sounds like it'll be a half-baked game, and I can suspect lots of rage from the gaming community.

The thing is, there'll be lots of rage no matter what. The odds of Blizzard making a perfect game are quite slim, and gamers today are so entitled that they'll make a big deal out of something small.

But, I'll enjoy it either way. Definitely going to be an early adapter.

I've never played a Diablo game before (I kind of missed a decade and a half of gaming - I'm trying to catch up though), but I did get into the beta and enjoyed it.

I actually went out and preordered the uber-CE version. But then again, the CE stuff is purely because I like getting that stuff. If I didn't collect, it wouldn't be worth it I don't think.

hmm or read up on the lore if you can find it. I have a huge book that came with the Diablo 2 chest thing. But there is no use in getting it since D3 comes out next month

Okay, so I have decided I was going to host a Diablo Digital Launch Party. I made a Facebook group, I don't know if you guys would want to join on there or not, but all it was going to be was everyone who was going to go out and get the game at Midnight release and play it as soon as they get home and go on Raidcall and just talk over Raidcall or Skype or something. Its not much, but at least its something! If you have any other ideas, that'd be awesome too in order to make it more interesting.

    Oh, here is the link:

She lives very close the launch party, so I'm guessing there is a high probability she/they will be attending.

I'm not a fan of facebook, so consider me a probably/maybe, with a few others.

Well if everyone uses it during the event, I will join. Also whenever D3 comes out, I don't mind hoping in. However lately I just play Battlefield 3. When I'm on that, usually I'm just in a Skype conference with whoever I'm gaming with.

Well, if it wasn't for Blake, I wouldn't have it. So, I am definitely thankful for him giving me his extra PC. I am paying for it though, $400 but he said to give it to him whenever, or just pay him in instalments, he doesn't care.

What a fun idea! I'd love to join in, but even if I don't end up going to the official Blizz one, I'll have work the next morning, so I actually will NOT be playing the game right at midnight :(

Yup, Kirk and I are actually planning to go to the launch party and hopefully interview some of the devs! I'll post something on the frontpage about that, to gather questions I can ask them in the event we get to talk to them :)

I felt the same way when Halo 2 first came out. It's not worth the price if failing in school in my opinion

No one will buy you a comp? Why not save and build your own system. Doesn't take much anymore to make a very capable system. Maybe do a few odd and end jobs, or just side jobs to help fund your gaming habits.

my buddy gave me his trial version which I just finished now.  Basically you get to play through to the skeleton king boss fight and then there are no more quests.  According to raptr i got there playing by myself in 2 hours on normal mode (I dont think you can change it in the trial), and I kind of have mixed feelings.  It seems to be... a dungeon crawler.  its nothing real new or exciting, although I do like the way the chacter level up and skill system works.  Now it is fun in a simple kind of way, and honestly alot of times I miss simple, but I just can't see myself paying full price for this, especially when for example I still havent beaten skyrim yet.  To me, diablo3 looks like a speck of dust when compared to huge world of skyrim... any thoughts or opinions on the matter?

I haven't played the game yet. Was on last night during the error fiesta, and eventually passed out. However I'll be on the game here in about 2 hours. So I'll post later on my thoughts. Did you play the past Diablo's lucig3n? The game at the core, is a dungeon crawler no doubt. However I have heard normal is super easy, then you get into the harder difficulties where the game does shine and becomes challenging.

Yea I probably should have added that I am new to the diablo series, although I used to watch my roommate play, I couldnt justify starting a new game in college that looks like it sucks up time like a vacuum and had graphics from a decade ago :P  Ive kept thinking about it, and I think i actually like the game, but I still dont think the cost is justified, they should cut the price in half :)

Well the game should offer quite a bit of replay value. People always grind for items as well, and with the new auction house I'm sure that's going to be a huge ordeal. People thinking they'll be able to make a living off of the market most likely. Hopefully they don't quit jobs over that lol. Hopefully they also raise the level cap later as well.. 60 sounds kinda low.. unless that's just me. More levels, equals longer gameplay even if it's just a grind.

Well I was able to get somewhere in the game yesterday. So far it's been real fun - playing it with a few others and it's been a great experience. Hopefully today they fix the server issues however. It was frustrating as hell with the servers going up and down and some people are disconnected and unable to get on - while others stay on (before everything went down). Definitely been one rough ride. Once those server issues are taken care of, should be good.

Just beat normal mode last night, was pretty fun final battle against Diablo.  I didn't get into the story so much the first time around, so i'll probably do some more reading on my second go through.  Level 32 witch doctor at this point.

Nice. I actually took a break from it..been 2 or 3 days now. Recommendation - don't shop the market until the higher difficulties. Few friends bought some things from it, and I happened to grab a few items, and since items are not restricted by difficulty, you can become beyond overpowered in lower difficulties, when your wearing armor that was found in like Hell and Inferno. Kinda ruins the game, in my opinion, unless just rushing to Inferno.

Has anyone dared tackle Hardcore mode yet? If you're not aware, hardcore mode means once you die, you can't play that character anymore - you also permanently lose any gear. I was thinking about soloing Hardcore with a monk until I realised the stash box in this mode doesn't get shared with your other characters.

I've been thinking of doing this as well, to spice up the gameplay. Knowing if you die, that's the end will add more excitement to each encounter. Not sure about anyone else, however unlike Diablo 2, this game just doesn't hold my attention like I thought it was going to. I find myself going back to other games that I've been playing, or trying new ones. Was expecting it to be one of those games you cannot wait to play after work, etc. However this isn't the case, least not for me.
