Apparently it seems people think i have not taken enough time to try to get to know this community before attempting to share Red Stone with you. So I guess i will take this oppertunity to say hello to the MMOATTACK community.

    Hello guys!

I would like it to be known that with my previous thread i ment no disrespect nor was i attemtping to spam your forums with "spammy self promotion". I am a gamer alot like all of you who feels very passionately about the game that i play and wishes to share the enjoyment i have had from it with other online communities. I hope you all would be willing to put aside any ill thoughts of my presentation and view me not as a threat to your community but a caring member.

    A little about me...

I am 25, female, and currently reside in BC, Canada. I have been playing Red Stone for almost 5 years and have grown to love it less like a fun pastime but more as a good friend. We have been there for eachother thru the good times and the bad, ups and downs in life. It was where i met my husband and most of the closest friends i have in my life.

The rest of my gaming carrer has been here and there. Never really finding anything that held my attention too long. Ive attempted to play most every other free to play MMO on the market currently and have not been too extremely impressed by any of them. As for consol games my husband and i have just started on Boarderlands. Im not a huge fan of first person shooter type games (except halo <3 halo) but its pretty good so far. We really quite enjoyed Dungeon Seige III, not sure if any of you have tried it but i highly recommend it. We nicknamed it "the hard game" because on the harder difficulty it really is quite a challange (i really enjoy a challange when it comes to games).

Been dabbling a bit in D3. I like it very much as a single player type game (with multiplayer co op options) but it lacks very much the MMO feel i had hoped for in it. (not sure why i had hoped for it at all considering how D2 was).

Hmmm.. not sure what else to tell you guys lol. Just hello from LLunatic and i hope to get to know you all ^_^

    Nice to meet ya!

Im much more a halo player than anything else, and so its good to see another fan around here :)  you are the second person i know to have met their partner on an online game, pretty crazy.  I dabbled a bit in d3 also, but its too much like an MMO for me so ive recently decided its only playing if I want to hang out with cool ppls (Debs!!!!)

anyway if you want to say hi, im most active on twitter @lucig3n could add you on the 360 if you are interested.  Goodluck recruiting for redstone!

    Hi lucig3n :D

Yes i have also heard of many people out there that have met thier spouses/partners in online games. It really is pretty crazy. Every time i tell people about it they are amazed and talk about how "romantic" it is that i moved all the way from Phoenix AZ to BC Canada to be with him. It was a no brainer tho lol. We just connected in a way i had never felt before with anyone. I know alot of people say you can never really know someone over the internet but i kinda feel like i got to know him better (the REAL him) without the distraction of physical appearance in the beginning. Not to mention hes a hermit online gamer, im a hermit online gamer so we really fit together so well being hermit online gamers together lol.

Yes my ex husband got me into Halo. I very adamantly told him i didnt like first person shooters and i didnt want to try it but he pushed and pushed and i finally gave in and im really glad i did. Halo 1 was great. 2 was good. 3 was meh. ODST was meh. and Reach so far has been my favorite. I am less interested in the campaign mode than i am in big team battle vs. My Xbox live subscription has been expired for a while now tho and i havent been able to play for some time. Still one of my all time favorite games by far tho. And the only real first person shooter i have really liked.

lol you thot that D3 was like an MMO? wow.. not even close. You could literally never even talk to another person the whole way thru D3 (all 4 difficulties). I do have to admit it is kinda nice (even tho i will always love Red Stone) to play a game without the distraction of other players always trying to troll. Ive had my fair share of drama in MMOs. Communities are great but people hiding behind thier keyboards really can get out of hand sometimes.

lol i noticed in a few of the other introduction threads i browsed that alot of the people here are also in Canada but on the eastern side. Gogo Canada? lol

I have been living in BC a year now and i love it so much. I could never even imagine going back to the states. And too funny how many people have started calling it "Canadia".

I would also like to post a thankyou to Jessica. I really hope i did not get off on the wrong foot here with everyone. I appreciate the oppertunity to continue the thread about Red Stone. Thanks ^_^

    Hi I'm Pr0ph3cyX

Just a hard nose gamer like the rest of us and absolutely hate Asian F2P games :p . I have the worst computer known to man and it cant run SWTOR, D3, Guild Wars 2, etc etc. I can barely run LoL and LOTRO. I'm pretty much screwed for gaming. I do play xbox and PS3 and if I had a game capture device I'd probably make some cool content on youtube.

I too also live in Canada. Shhh were taking over MMOAttack by infiltrating there staff *shifty eyes* *evil laugh*

Sucks your a West Coaster like Jess and Kyle and Kirk. It's hard to game with you guys when the time zones are way behind for you.

haha the worst computer known to man huh? thats awful lol.

I have to admit i felt the same way before comming to Canada. My pos laptop was awful and i had a decent (or what i had thot at the time was decent) deskop in my posession but was unable to use it due to living situation and lack of space. Getting up here i pulled out my shiney desktop and plugged it in and was so excited to start using it and realised it was really no better than my pos laptop afterall haha.

Thankfully tho with the comming of D3 and my husband being very excited to play it he decided that he would start putting aside money to get me a better computer. God i didnt even know how awful my pos laptop was untill i was able to handle a real machine. I have booted up the laptop a couple times since getting my new system and i honestly dont have a clue how i ever had the patience for it in the past.

LOL you think your computer is the worst in the world and you can run LoL and LOTRO? Hah! not a chance i could have run that on my pos laptop OR my crappy desktop.

A "hard nosed gamer" eh? lol i wouldnt really call myself hard nosed at all. In fact im a big softy. I have the problem alot of the time in many situations of caring just way too much about stupid little stuff and getting all mushy. Im a big softy lol.

I do love consol games. In fact i was just talking to my husband over dinner last night about maybe trying out Torchlight 2 when it comes out, but really wanting to find another game that has the MMO style to it with a community i can get into (not that i would ever leave Red Stone but something on the side). I mentioned to him that i really wanted to find more games that we could play on the consol together. I really much prefer the feeling and atmosphere of being able to share the same screen. Makes me feel closer to him :P And also i prefer to use a controler rather than keyboard and mouse. But as he stated it sure seems like multiplayer hack and slash rpg syle games on a consol seem to be dying out =/

We had so much fun with Champions of Norrath, Baldur's Gate, Gauntlet, Dungeon Seige III (the "hard game"). I would love to be able to find more games like that to play with him. Granted tho like with most consol games there is very little if any replayability.. so even if we did find a good one we would eventually get bored with it just like all the other ones and they would sit on the shelf till in 10 years after we have not played it for so long we decide to start it up again. This is one thing that good MMOs have over consol games for me. A reason to stay with it in the long term. A reason to keep playing even after the content itself is kinda worn out.

lol hate asian f2p games... hmm... uhh... is there any f2p games that are NOT made by asians? lol

Haha again i had to look something up, i was gonna ask isnt LoL techically an asian F2P game? But in looking at the wikipedia it appears the Riot Games is a California based company. I stand corrected :P Wow same with LOTRO...

Ok so what exactly happens in your head when you see a new game that looks interesting? lol do you have to go and Google it and make sure that its not developed by an asian company before you can even consider playing it? And curious... why exactly do you have something against asian games anyway? 0,o

Yes im a west coaster, i always have been tho. I came from Phoenix AZ so i didnt even have to change time zones on the trip up. Timezones are messed up tho when dealing with online friendships for sure lol. Most of my guildies are on crazy different times than myself. We have been working to set up a guild D&D (table top books and dice) campaign to play over our voice chat server and its just crazy trying to set  a time that everyone can actually attend.

    very simple actually

By looking at any asian game on there website it uses a cartoon or anime cut out on the site just like all the other sites.
    nothing really initiative or new
small characters or girls in skirts (in every game pretty much)
poor map/level design in almost every game
large weapons like a sword like in Final Fantasy
some asian games dont carter to english speaking people and have no language chooser.
80% of users are asian and are way to good at playing the game and dont speak english
WAY TO MANY ASIAN F2P GAMES. I would say it's up in the 50 range of how many there are.

Only 3 asian things I like. Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Godzilla

Still no DBz or pokemon mmos or coop RPGs yet that are mainstream.

I just do like asian games. And Guild Wars is pushing it but there are some devs that are not asian.

NOW before you say "Oh you hate Asians your racist" NO I'm not. I just dont like there games and how they are so fucking good

So i reread my comment before about the MMO experience wrt D3... and I have no idea what I was talking about :P  I thought I could figure it out but I am utterly at a loss for what I was going for with that comment.  In truth, I am yet again disappointed by D3.  It has all the hack and slashyness of an MMO without the social aspect, and you take away the social aspect and (i think) you are left with boredom. Thats mostly what I've gotten out of D3, real glad my roommate just let me make a char on his account instead of actually buying the game because I would have felt sorely disappointed.

Im glad you liked Reach, I know alot of people that I played with are torn over the Halo3/Reach decision and it seems to be about 50/50 with many people absolutely hating reach.  I am fine with it, and I've enjoyed my time there, but I personally had the best experience with halo 2.  Before I had xboxlive we used to have 16 person LANs at my house where we would play halo and eat pasta for 6-8 hours and those were the most fun ive ever had with any game.  Period.

I would also like to point out the prophecy can "kind of" run LoL, can't speak for LOTRO though.  And while Im butting into your conversation, gaming communities are so difficult to find and enjoy for long periods of time.  I have had one clan where I have left completely peacefully with no ill feelings, I simply just didnt enjoy their company and was a little too competitive for the group I was in.  Every other community I've known has, for the most part, undergone atleast some major 'burst into flames' stage, with many of them closing altogether.  I hope that doesn't happen here!  But after all the groups ive been through, I have kept in contact with a couple really great people, that I text/msg on a regular basis, and I would say it was worth my MMO stint to make those connections.  Individuals can be great, but groups often suffer an unfortunate demise :/

LOTRO can be played to a certain point then you gotta fork out money to get the extra content but It's really fun.

haha well im known in most places i frequent as the creator of the "purple walls". Most often i use a light purple color for my text and when i feel passionately about something i tend to write alot. "books" as my guildies refer to them. So its not unlike me at all to have incredibly long posts.

I like to add alot of detail to my writing and say things how i would tell you face to face. Its just my style of writing i suppose lol

I tend to type walls of text as well, as generally what you want to say cannot be summed up any smaller, without missing good points. However, I find posting on your phone or mobile device helps prevent that. doh.

Exactly! Its actually very rare for me to type short posts. Mostly becuase i tend not to say anything at all unless i have something important to say and when i have something important to say it inevitably ends up being a wall. Its only when im feeling comfortable enough to randomly comment on things that are not of the utmost importance to me that i end up with shorter posts.

Ive tried to get into the habit of creating shorter posts.  I think its a good exercise in writing skills and it also makes it far more likely that someone will actually read your post.  Ive put up way to many giant posts that then just kill conversation afterwards because no one is willing to read the whole thing and comment on it.  Short and sweet is the way to go!

PS: i definitely thought you were a robot too at first

I love the long posts LLunatic. It's hard too say everything we are thinking in such little amounts of words! Welcome to the forums though even though you've been here longer than myself.

I love halo too (FluskenRaider). Play all the time. I was a huge fan dedicated to playing Diablo 2. So I have been waitng for 3 for a long time. However, I too fell to the fate of having an old computer. I have one that can handle it now so I just have to get around to buying D3. Sadly, I have heard a resounding disappointment with the game but I know I will play it one day. Still looks like a lot of fun. I would never expect or hope for it to emulate an MMO because the others were just tons of clicking over and over hacking and slashing enemies. But I love that honestly.

By the way I have to agree with the 50/50 feeling on Reach. I'm even half and half on it. I don't want to play it anymore and am pissed at its glitchy nature, yet its good enough to hold me over until Halo 4. More importantly, if Halo 4 weren't coming out I doubt Id truly ever quit playing reach.

Howdy, Stranger!
