Well, ok. I actually didn't play ME3. I just wanted to create this thread to spur discussion, and then peace out in case of spoilers on the off-chance that I ever get into the ME series.

So go on. Tell each other how much you hated the ending.

i liked the ending. i was thinking about the indoctrination possibility before it was a thing that was making the rounds, the videos and the discussions around it just solidified those ideas. very curious and cautiously optimistic about what this dlc is.

I don't know what anyone is talking about when they say that they don't like the ME3 ending!! Apparently they didn't do something right because...

    Spoiler:
My character LIVED, my crew LIVED, the Reapers were DESTROYED, and Earth was SAVED! I win =D Couldn't have had a better ending.

    What I think

    Spoiler:
People rant of the game cause you've been creating all this stories along with your crew, making peace in planets saving entire races just to see them blow out and die. And I guess I understand the rant. But if you really think about it, it IS a good ending for a just EPIC series. Why not pick it up 100 years or a 1000 years after that, to see how things turn out. I do like it, not all endings must be happy, that bitter sweet falvor Mass Effect ending gives you is awesome (btw I'm talking about the extended cut, first one was just not "finished" on side to the extended cut)

I'm unsure how I feel about the endings.  The extended cut improved things, but seems, in style, lesser than the graphics of the first set of endings.

Ultimately the conclusions seem kinda railroaded.  Which I understand, but the universe didn't really feel like it was ever hinging on my decisions.  It just seemed to plod along its planned out path without my input.  That's my biggest gripe with the game.

Taking it as one big set of stories, it's a good game.  It's just that my choices never seemed to cause all that great of a 'Mass Effect'.  I've not finished 3, so I may be wrong, but nothing in 1 or 2 has shown me much differently.  Except for the way they played the final chain of missions for ME2.

Edit: After some thought I realized what it is I truly don't like about the moral choice system of the game.  Paragon options, almost always, give you the 'Everybody lives' outcome, regardless of your actions.  I think that's a little to binary.  Sometimes, I think that trying to save everyone ought to cost more lives than being the cold calculating Renegade.  Just my two cents on it, and probably what I disliked about the game.  The Renegade options nearly universally have negative outcomes for everyone's life span, while the Paragon options keep everyone alive the longest.

Howdy, Stranger!
