    yeah no

There is absolutely no detail in the game. Diablo is way better. Plus Asian games are way to complex and have stuff in it that only asians understand

lol for the record im not asian and i have played Red Stone for almost 5 years. What do you mean by no detail? :P

Red Stone is a very unique game in many ways. It has alot of features not often seen in MMOs these days. Here are just a few.

    Transform System
Although Red Stone really has 19 separate classes, each of those are tied to others making for even more expansion and customization of your character. Use this ability to your advantage in battle, weaken your foes with one class then change class mid battle to finish them off. You can become proficient in both of the available classes of your character, and switch between them very easily. Learning the strategy of switching classes during combat may mean life or death in some situations.

    Charge Point System
Red Stones charge point system is very much like any other games Mana point system, its a pool of points you have to draw from to use skills or cast spells. The difference between mana and charge points (CP) though, is the manner in which you replenish it. Yes you can use a potion, as most games traditionally have potions. But the more effective way is to learn how to use your skills to maintain your CP and be able to continue to fight.

Some skills use CP and some skills gain CP. Learning which do which allows you to strategize which skills to use at which times. Also keep in mind that running exhausts CP so walking while you’re in battle is a good idea.

    Skill Point System
Most MMOs these days, you level up you get a reward. You don’t get rewarded till you level up. Its like saying that you are 16 until your 17th birthday, but what about all of those days in between? What about all of the time between levels? Shouldn’t you get something for that? Shouldn’t you be able to say I’m 16 and a half? Who doesn’t like birthday presents all year round?

Red Stone does not just reward you for your levels, but it rewards you every step of the way to those levels too. Skill points are broken into percents of your level, each time you get a certain percent of a level, you get another skill point. Those skill points add up quickly so that you can spend them on the skills you want, even if you are in the middle of a level.

    Completely Customizable Characters
I don’t mean what your character looks like. Many of the people who have tried Red Stone in the past have complained they cannot change the way their character looks. But don’t be turned off by this small fact. Really what does it matter what your character looks like anyway. Like what does it matter what the graphics look like if the game itself is fun? Think back to the games of your childhood. Didn’t you enjoy those?

When i say "fully customizable" i mean the BUILD of your character. Each of the characters in Red Stone can be built many different ways. Most commonly the main builds are knowledge and power.

Take for example an archer. Yes you’re gonna think this is a little funny but in Red Stone power = physical damage, knowledge = magical damage. This goes across the board. A physical damaging archer, would not put into dexterity as you might think, but into power because power = physical damage.

So an archer can be a power build. Interval shooter, careful aim, chaser, glider (the common power skills). She can be very effective on a single target doing physical damage. Or...

An archer can be a knowledge build. Magic Arrow, Rain of Fire, guardian post, waterfall (the common knowledge skills). She can deal magic damage to multiple targets.

This is the difference between putting into the stats of Knowledge or Power. Every character has this ability to go several paths down their skills. Each character can be built many ways.

Vast Prefix System and Item Customization
There are 100s of different prefixes in Redstone. Each of which has its purpose and each of which has its rarity. A lot like Diablo was known for the item dropping system is based on random rolls, however you can try to turn the rolls in your favour by investing in magic drop gear and the stat Luck. Luck increases the chances of dropping better and better items. Item hunting is an enjoyable pastime. And with frequent Item drop Events put on by OGP it’s a profitable use of your time.

OGP has released into the item shop some very powerful items to alter the prefixes of your items. Duplicate rare prefixes, pull the prefix off one item and put it onto another, upgrading existing prefixes. With these items you are able to virtually make any item you desire (with chance of failure). Making it so you can even further fine tune your character to play how you want to play it.

    Guild System
Red Stone has a very well structured guild system. You are able to join a guild at level 10 and you are rewarded with stat and skill bonuses (dependant on guild).

Several ranks in the guild list allow for the guild master to give permissions to whom he sees fit for the job.

Guild storage allows guild members to share items and gold with each other. Shop at the guild merchant to get discounts on frequently purchased items like potions.

Guild chat keeps us all able to communicate with each other.

Guild vs Guild wars are a head to head challenge between your guild and an opposing team (Can be set any time by the guild master).

Siege wars are a weekly guild vs guild match to capture/defend territory (only on Saturdays at set times).

Get a guild crest so members can proudly represent their guild mark.

Guild dungeons are instanced dungeons that give incredible amounts of experience and items for guild members only.

Raise in the ranks and be able to activate the guild masters blessing, a 2 hour exp bonus for all the guild members (available once a week for guild hall 4 and 5).

    Hotkeys and Controls
This may seem a little strange for some, but what would you rather do? Be able to put your fingers very comfortably on home row to play a game, or have to reach over your entire keyboard to hit those silly F keys for your skills?

The hotkeys in Red Stone are not customizable at this time. But they are very well placed. your main hotkeys for skills and equipment are your home row placement (qwertasdfg) all other hotkeys are conveniently placed around where your hand is already resting. Reach up to use belt items 1-5. Up a little higher to the F keys to get your menus (F1-F8).

Click to move and simple targeting, the ability to assign skills to your left click (offensive and defensive). Red Stone is really a very comfortable game to play.

    Quests and Secret Dungeons
Red Stone offers 100s of quests to complete, many with significant rewards. Main Quest is the story of the game. The main quest is currently 5 chapters long and takes you through 100s of levels of gameplay.

General quests are those done to help NPCs with tasks and offer a little incentive.

Title quests are tasks given by NPCs to gain useful titles for your character including more inventory space, the ability to sell items to other players in a street stall, increased potion efficiency, faster health recovery, increased magical damage, increased bank capacity and much more.

Master quests are class specific quests that allow you to become stronger when you have mastered one or more of your skills.

Secret Dungeons are limited daily quests that offer massive experience rewards. These quests have to be done in a party and a key must be obtained to enter.

Guild Dungeons are also limited daily quests that you and your guild mates can to together, they offer massive experience rewards and good item drops.

    Level cap and Rebirthing
Red Stone has a very high level cap at 999, reaching this cap has never before been accomplished. In the vast continent of Prandel there are 100s of training areas with ever growing difficulty of monsters to kill. With such a high level cap you can never get bored. There’s always something more to work for.

Once you have reached 600 you are able to partake in the Rebirthing system. Rebirthing allows you to give your character a new life while still retaining all the benefits you had prior. It gives extra stat and skill points and a glowing ring on your character to signify your accomplishment.

    Tameable Pets
Both a tamer and a Necromancer are able to tame monsters in Prandel to be their pets. There are many to choose from. Every monster has its strengths and weaknesses in combat. More information on what pets are available and how to use their special abilities can be found on the OGPlanet Redstone forums.

it would seem you have made an account just to promote this game... im not altogether against the thought of that though, atleast you are a human :P

Now I've had experience with korean MMOs, I daresay I've spent far too much time playing games developed by our friends the koreans over there.  However personally, I find art to be a huge attraction to MMOs.  It can have the best gameplay in the world, but if I can't look like a badass and do some seriously baller moves, im not interested.  I am unfortunately incredibly turned off by the cartoony drawing of this game.  Now my first 2 MMOs which were both korean were Silkroad Online (beautiful game) and Dekaron (beautiful game despite utter lack of character customization).  In terms of graphics they are a PS3 to a N64, and I'm sorry, but I no longer have my N64.

Also wikipedia says there are 8 classes which are broken into 2 subclasses so im not sure where you pulled 19, but I assume its some kind of method to building subclasses.  That however doesn't make them completely different.

On a final note I swore to never play MMOs again after I realized how much time I was putting into them.  Now that I'm graduating there might be more time for soemthing, but with Diablo 3 and Guildwars 2, games that promise both massive community support, beautiful graphics, and excellent gameplay, I find it impossible to seriously consider starting Red Stone

Sorry buddy, hope ya stick around for some other gaming discussions!

I know there are alot of sites that have the wrong information about Red Stone. That is why i have taken the time to go out into the world of MMO communities to post the CORRECT information about the game. The information on Wiki is outdated, we have gotten more characters since it was updated. I have contacted them to try to change the information there but have not recieved a reply yet.

Yes they are in fact seperate classes. You can play every character several different ways. Every character (at least in the beginning) is best played focused on one class. Though you have the ability to cross class into its counter part, you are much better off staying pure of one side till much later in the game when cross classing is easier and more useful. Yes they are completely different. Each class can be played without ever touching its counterparts skills.

lol i have to wonder, what are you doing on an MMO discussion forum if you have sworn off MMOs?

I am very sorry to hear that you think the appearance of the game is so very important. You could be missing out on some very fun games because of this outlook. So would you play a seriously boring game just becuase it looks good?

Let me go into a bit more detail on the classes, to quell any confusion on the subject:

    lol kirk
and mmoattack isnt really an mmo forum.  I play LoL, TF2, and Minecraft with these people, not MMOs (traditional).

To your other question, no.  In general I only play games that look good and have great graphics as well.  I am willing to forgive other things like terrible community and bad support (generally I can figure stuff out myself).  There are also enough awesome games out there that it generally isnt too much of a trade off.  For example I'm looking forward not to Torchlight 2 and Mechwarrior Online, while having a number of games in my library I havent even finished (Fable2, 3, Borderlands, D3 (kind of), Torchlight 1, Garry's Mod) while still being hooked on a number of major multiplayer experiences (Bf3, halo, sc2, minecraft).  So personally I am not going to start a new game if I already have a collection of games that are notoriously awesome in terms of both gameplay and graphics?

I do appreciate the enthusiasm though, how many different sites have you done this on?

lol kinda a silly name for a community of gamers "mmoattack" if the community is really nothing to do with mmos.  0,0

lol well your loss. So many good games out there are not based on awe inspiring graphics but solid fun gameplay. Suit yourself ^_^

As for your inquirey about how many sites i have been posting on i have to admit im trying to go all out and give as much information as i can to the mmorpg communties out there. So as many as i have been able to find. Most of which have outdated information about the game and dispite my messages to them informing them of thier incorrect information they still have yet to change it >.>

I will keep pushing foward tho. This game is just too awsome not to want to share it with people. Ive been playing it almost 5 years myself and still never get bored. So much to do, so many people that have captured my heart. So many battles yet to be won. And with all the new content that has been released in the past year or so there are plenty of new things to do too. I really hope i am sharing it it a way that people will be as enthralled as i have been with Red Stone for so many years.

Mk tell me something... If they game was so amazing why is it so dead.... most people who play are at a high lvl, I have been playing for 2 years and it rare to see people my own lvl at the places I am.... And really you wanna try saying unique looks on charaters isnt imporant? no one wants to look the same forever.... and looking like ever single person playing your class is hella stupid.... Its a bland game it doesnt offer that much uniqueness..... oh big deal you can build a charater multiple ways lmfao a ton of games do that... and how dare you compare this game to diablo 3, Its nothing like diablo 3, sure there are some thing alike but alot of video games have something the same.... If you wanna get in this then WoW is like LoL because WoW has an arena that you have to take control of places like the new mode in LoL.... and battle field 3 is like LoCo because its in LoCo you shoot and melee that same lmfao.

Ok first off i never, not once, compared Red Stone to Diablo 3. I in fact compared it to Diablo 1 and 2 in graphic style and gameplay. Please read before getting all defensive. Diablo 3 is different in many aspects however it still follows the 2.5D, Sprite based, or Isometric type point of view.  Red Stone is more like Diablo 2 as an MMO. Same dungon crawler hack and slash play with a story to follow and a vast item prefix system making item hunting another fun pastime. Right and left click assigned skills and hotkeys. Skill trees that offer character cusomization thru different stat and skill distrobution and equips. Putting aside a previous posters pointing out that Diablo is "darker"... its very similar.

As for character creation and the vast amount of customization ability in skills/stats, please name other games that have even a fraction of the amount of customization that Red Stone does. Every character can be played SEVERAL different ways. Each of which are backed up with a completely different gear set.
Take for example a priest. Most people would assume a priest would be soley a support character. Not in Red Stone. A priest can be built to be a support/tank, a Buffer, a battle priest with powerful melee attacks and more. Each build requires different stat distrobution and gears to make it effective. Then on top of that still you have its transformation class the Fallen Angel which can also be taken down several paths as well opening up even more options and customization to the style you want to play.

As for the game being "dead" its hardly dead. There are many players already but i personally blame the fact that there has been little to no good advertisement for this game and alot of the sites that do mention it have outdated information which is why i have taken it upon myself to try to fix that. Hard to get player base if no one even knows about it or have heard about it or are sent to old dead or outdated links when they try to download it. But i think that what you said just proves the awsomeness of the game itself. Those that have found it and have gotten into it have stuck around for many years of enjoyment. Most of which will never leave it.

I cannot fathom why character appearance is so very important to so many people. If the game itself is so fun why should it matter? There are 100s of games on the old consol systems before the age of all these amazing lifelike graphics that are super fun. Shouldnt it be about the game itself and not what it looks like? I can understand for first timers, those who are not familiar with the graphics it might look a bit outdated compared to the amazing cgi we can see these days. But again i ask what does it matter if the game itself is fun and addicting and overall proven to be many years of enjoyment? I dont remember any appearance customization in Diablo 1 and 2. Did that make those bad games?

Open your minds to the possibility that games dont have to LOOK amazing to BE amazing :P

Closing this thread. This forum is for "general gaming talk," I believe you're looking for "spammy self-promotion."

Oh no, wait - we don't HAVE a forum for spammy self-promotion.

Anyway, it's great that you're so excited about your game. But you're not going to win any fans doing what you're doing. If you wanted to actually create an intro thread, get to know the members of these forums, and legitimately join this community because you saw it as a group of interesting people rather than an additional outlet for promoting yourself, then please do so. I'm sure the community (myself included) would be much more open to trying out your game once we got to know you.

Edit: Reopened and moved to Official Game Discussions. I'm not going to remove the original content of my post, because I'm not trying to cover up what I original said, which was admittedly harsh. LLunatic messaged me explaining that he was not trying to spam, but was simply very passionate about Red Stone. Again, I apologize. Please feel free to continue the discussion, and welcome to the community :)

It's defiantly a unique way of getting into the community. You can defend Red Stone all you want but I will never play that game for as long as I live or any other Asian based game like the many other games they made.

I find your dedication to the game a bit disturbing if just a normal gamer on it. I'm a huge fan of specific titles, especially games such as Battlefield. However personally, your posts do appear to be done up in an advertisement format - possibly a seo related tactic. I've read your posts, and won't be checking it out. There are far to many games out at this time. I have non installed games still from sales at Steam, etc.

Also since your here trying to push the game, one can only assume the population of the game must be non existent or dying, or I'd think as a gamer you would be playing the game instead and having fun. One thing I hate, is coming into a low population game, as I'm about gaming with other people. When the populations are low, it's time to move on.

As for the format of my original post, i personally cant stand sloppy posts. Especially when its something like informational like that i expect it to be easy to read and well written. These forums do not seem to allow me to use BBC so i was not able to put it in the style of color and bolding i usually do.

Yes i am dedicated to Red Stone. I have been playing it almost 5 years. And i dont mean casually either. Red Stone for me has not been an on and off kinda game. I mean every day online, playing for almost 5 years. Ive met my husband and every close friend i have there. That has to say something about my dedication to the game. As for being "SEO tactic" (I actually had to look up the term as i was not familiar with it gogo google ftw) I suppose in some ways yes thats kinda what im attemtping to do (not professionally of course). I cant stand that the publishers (tho i support them 100%) have not taken alot of time to update all the sites themselves with the correct information about the game. Which is why i have been trying to get the correct information out there.

You say you are a fan of Battlefield. A pretty well known game already. But what if you loved it and it really wasnt well known. What if everywhere you looked had all the wrong information. What if you had told some friends about it in the past and they said to you they couldnt find it, or they found it but they couldnt download it because the link was broken... wouldnt you want to share the CORRECT information with them? Wouldnt you want to reach out and share the correct information with many more people? Maybe i just have a different type of "love" for a game than you would. Ive been accused of being too emotionally invested in this game. But for me its been like a good friend to me. Red Stone has been with me thru the good times and the bad (both in my life and its life) and we have helped eachother thru some of the hardest times. I may sound a little crazy here haha but Red Stone for me is alot more than "just a game". The friendships and relationships with people i have made there are very real.

And again i will say (as i have said in the post at the top of this page) Red Stone is not dead. It is not hurting for people. I have always wanted to share Red Stone with other online communities. Even back when i first started playing it. The problem back then tho was the publisher/hosting company K2. There was little to no support and bugs everywhere and they did very little to help fix things or clean up the game. In fact they even let it get so far out of hand that there WAS some serious hacking going on and it was a mess. We ended up having to have a server wipe. Why would i go and share a broken game with other people, no matter how much i loved it.

But that was several years ago under a company that couldnt care less about the outcome of the game they chose to host. Since then we have changed hands a few times and fallen in the laps of OGPlanet. I dont know if anyone here has had any prior experience with OGPlanet. I had not before they got the rights to Red Stone, but since they took over (in june of 2010) they have done amazing things for the game. There have been massive and frequent updates/bug fixes. They have cracked down greatly on stopping bots and bug abusers. They have hired a team of Game Sages (pretty much player mods) to help keep an eye on things. They run weekly and monthly events constantly. They have great support.. the list goes on.

So now was the time. When Red Stone was at its peak of greatness to share it with other people. I understand your thought process with thinking the game must be dying for me to be pushing it in the first place but in fact its the complete opposite. Im not "desperate" to pull people into Red Stone. I just feel now is the best time to give it a try and see if you like it when OGP has been doing such a great job making it even more fun for everyone.

Well I've been playing the Battlefield series since it's debut in 2002, so that's like 10 years. Obviously it has evolved, and it's based on a series of games. However it seems like you have taken the entertainment part, and turned it into reality. Also to answer your question, if a game is not well known, then the population on it is probably lacking, which means I would have either quit, or just moved on. Also if information for the game was that half assed or not cared about, then one can assume the company has a different mindset for the game (aka, cash cow). If the game is so epic and fun, I would think it would be more recognized in this day and age. To many venues not to be displayed on and known about.

Well as i said before, ive been accused of being entirely too emotionally invested in Red Stone. It really is like a friend to me. A living breathing entity rather than a "form of entertainment".

Haha you keep going back to the "must be lacking in population" thing. What do you consider "lacking"? Man people these days are so worried about the graphics and the population and so many things that shouldnt even be important when your playing a game for fun (yes i may think of Red Stone as so much more than just entertainment but when it comes right down to it thats what it is... entertaining) Open your minds to the idea that games dont have to LOOK amazing to BE amazing.

Lol perfect example, last night when looking on the gamefaqs forums for diablo 3 information my husband ran across a topic that was comparing diablo 3 to sacred 2. Now a couple months ago him and i found sacred 2 in the discount bin so we picked it up thinking we would give it a try. In reading the information for the game in the booklet that came with the game i started to get excited thinking this would be a really cool game to play. We put it in and started it up and went thru the character select screen. Good so far. Till we got into the world. The text was so small it was impossible to read anything, even on his 52" tv. In messing around with our buttons trying to figure out what did what he hit the summon button on his inquisitor and summoned a HUGE demon that one hit us and chased us around the map untill finally we both died. When we revived we were on a small island somewhere really far away from where we had started and had no clue how to even get back to where we were. Running around aimlessly for an hour or so we gave up and havent touched it since.

But last night when i saw that topic and saw a few people saying they spent 1000s of hours on sacred 2 and how wonderfully in depth a game it was i had to stop and really think. Was this the same Sacred 2 that we tried and had literally given up on (i dont give up on many games) a few months ago? I must be missing something for people to have been saying Sacred 2 was better than Diablo 3... what was i missing?

We are searching for the PC version to give it a try. I dont know if it maybe plays differently than the xbox version we had tried before... or maybe it would look a bit different and the text would be a bit easier to read? or maybe just even being able to run further away from eachother than what the screen would allow on multiplayer on the xbox. We are giving it another try.

As for the information being half assed for Red Stone... I really dont know whats going on with that. Since OGPlanet took over Red Stone they have been amazing with in game events and support. They really have gone above and beyond to keep the game running smoothly. The actual Red Stone team (our GMs) is great... but i fear that the marketing department may be a bit behind. No i dont believe they view Red Stone as a "Cash cow" I highly doubt they would put nearly the amount of effort they do into the events and in game support if that were the case. Whatever the reason for the lack of advertsiement i still will be out there doing what i can to pick up the slack.

This is actually the first time i have ever tried to make a video for a game. I plan on doing a whole series for Red Stone. I dont know if ill branch out into other games, but i know some people make some decent money doing that and if i get good enough at it i might give it a try lol.

What did you like about it? Any pointers on what would be good to add for future vids?

well that isn't what i expected from the voice-over!  its very straightforward, concise, and proper.  This is the kind of video that I feel should be posted on the game's main page to explain everything, it has that kind of feel to it.  Were you reading from a script for this?  It sounds like you were a bit, but I also feel like you might just know the game this well where you can cover all of these things off the top of your head.  You are very good at presenting information though!

Im not sure what style of video you are going for, but if you want to make straightforward helpful videos, then you've nailed that about perfectly.  I know I personally often prefer a more fun, playful style of video, especially for things more complex than basic hotkeys and game mechanics.  Its also generally helpful to have some kind of music going on in the background, it doesnt have to have words or be overpowering, but just to have something there is generally nice.  Keep in mind that this is all from the point of view of someone who doesn't actually care much about what you are presenting (im still not going to play) though, but its my best effort at a critique.

In short: Redstone should hire you :P

When i think of the term "voice over" i think of recorded video then adding in the voice later, if this is what you ment then no i recorded both at the same time.

Yes i was attemtping to make it a strightfoward factual video. No i was not using a script, im just that knowledgeable about the game as ive played it for almost 5 years now lol. I did however have a few failed attempts before making it as i wanted it to be. I tend to stumble over my words sometimes when speaking and i didnt want to be correcting myself thru the whole thing. So i suppose it could have sounded like i was going on a script as i kept it about the same every time i re-recorded it. This video was posted on the official OGPlanet Red Stone youtube channel.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/OGPredstone?feature=mhum

I might in the future go for more of a playful aspect, however they were looking for informational tutorial videos to post on the main youtube channel so i tried to cater to thier request. Yes i was considering a bit of music in the background but i didnt want to chance that my voice would be overwhelmed with it. I suppose ill give that a try next time. There are some tracks from the Red Stone soundtrack that would be appropriate.

Yes i agree, being a long time and passionate player of the game i have considered trying to put in a resume with them. Id like to be put into a position that i could work from home however i dont think OGP really works that way. I have however been a Game Sage (player moderator) for more than two years for Red Stone. I believe i will attempt (once my paperwork here in canada for permanent residency is completed) to put in a resume to join the team as soon as i can.

    I appreciate your critique lucig3n ^_^

yea if they had asked for that kind of video then you did it splendidly.  I admire your ability to present, and from the sounds of it they would be a fool not to hire you when your paperwork goes through.  Your passion and knowledge of the game are incredible and your ability to speak clearly and concisely is top drawer.

Also considering the fact they asked for an informational video, music would have certainly taken away from it.  Hard to ask for a better video on such a topic!

np, I won't play your game, but i always like to help people who deserve help
