let me know what you guys think or suggestions for the next one! |

The slow downs get choppy, I'm assuming it's because you're slowing it down to a point where the source is less than 30FPS, sort of the same issues as the Ghost Recon video. I'd highly suggest getting some more HDD space. I know for my recording I do it at 1080p 60FPS and that my 5400RPM drive can write quick enough to do it, but you'll also want at least a terabyte of space to record at that. You can get a 1TB drive for $90 on NewEgg, probably cheaper if you shop around. Also Counter-Strike, any of them, at least if you want to do more sync videos. |

actually its because i didnt go through with twixtor on the slow mo's. just didnt have the time to. I want to record at 1080p@60fps but my gfx card cant handle it so itll end up giving me like 20. for now its really the first few times ive actually recorded stuff but those suggestions are things. I actually just got a 2tb drive so i should be good to go if my comp can run the games. if i ever upgrade my gfx card itll be smooth sailing from there. im limited by hardware :/ thanks for the suggestions and i could do some counter strike ones. btw what video card are you using? |

I just watched this earlier and I really liked what you did with it. I agree that some of the footage was a little choppy though, but with your hardware probs it's totally understandable. The timings were mostly spot on, and it was fun to watch! Good job, dude! Curious -- how hard would it be to do a MMO Attack machinima? |
|
it honestly depends on what game youd want to do it with...for example machinima with ghost recon online... impossible. bf3 one, if its on a server one of us owns it could happen. GTA4 works, halo works, what game did you have in mind? |

I use two GTX 470s and an i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz. I have friends who record and stream full time and you should be able to record at a solid 60FPS for pretty much anything with well an i5 2500k, and a single GTX 460 or equivalent, its basically impossible to find 460s anymore, but you can get a 560 for ~$150. The really important part though for recording is the CPU. |
|
yeah im using like. a 2.8ghzquad i5 cant remember the model. and a 6850 but it still struggles keeping consistant fps while recording |
|
I have a Phenom X4 3.4GHz with a 6870, 8GB 1600, and has issues with keeping up with the fps as well, on Battlefield 3 that is. It is good to run the game from a SSD though, gives you a boost in frames. Looks like we both have to do some upgrading. I'm just going to build a completely new rig in the coming month. |
|
Ya its definitely your CPU holding you back Jordi, it's really important to have a lot of head room in order to record game footage. My CPU ships stock at 3.2Ghz but overclocking is important to get that extra power. |
TBH I didn't have a game in mind, though I figured something more RPG-y. I figured it would depend on resources, and what would suit whoever might do voiceovers, etc. Really just throwing ideas out there. But oh god, everyone talking about upgrades makes me sad. I have a Phenom X4 955 (3.2Ghz) with 2x GTX 260. Haven't upgraded in .... 3 years, maybe? No issues with recording quality (especially since I'm not trying to be pro or anything) but I find that for what I want to do, the HDD space is killing me! I need a new HDD. Probably easier if I stream instead of record. |
