    I want your OPINION!
    Which one would you have?
    Xbox (Microsoft) or Ps3 (Sony)
    And why?
    I just want your opinion!

And also which game would you choose?
    Mw3 / Mw2 / Black Ops / Black Ops 2?

I'm partial to Xbox.  I've had mine for god knows how long and have love it ever since.  Well, except for the red ring of death a few years back, that was a hassle.  Surprisignly i've never had the urge to get a Ps3.  I had the original playstation, and playstation 2, but since I got Xbox i've had no reason to get a Playstation.

In terms of which CoD game.  I would go for Black Ops 2, just because I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet.  But I really enjoyed Modern Warfare 2 the most I think.

Ha, not even a question. Xbox all the way.

And to answer your other question: Halo. I've never played any of those Call of Duty games...

I have ps3 and xbox but the xbox gets about 100 times more usage.  It has better 3rd party support, better live services if you play as much as i do, and better motion stuff if ur into that

and i would rather have halo.  Any halo.

I bought an xbox 360 when Oblivion launched, but I think I went through four of them by the time I was finished with my freshman year of college.  The fourth xbox was on its way out, so instead of buying a new one, I bought a PS3 so I could play Blu-Ray movies and Resistance 2.  Resistance 2 wasn't really that great, and I don't watch many Blu-Ray films, but I love the Uncharted series and I find the Dual Shock 3 controller to be superior to the Xbox 360 gamepad.

The PS3 is not the console to buy if you really enjoy online gaming though.  There are a lot more people playing online on the xbox servers, and the xbox store generally has better downloadable games. Because I don't play many console games online and because I mainly use my PS3 as a Netflix player, I am fine with the PS3.

What I don't like about PS3 is about the hacking things. So many people hack games and also some people hacked on some people's credit card account which I am afraid of so yea. I sticked with xbox.

Yeah, PSN was down for 2-3 months, and all I got in return was Little Big Planet (hated it) and the PS3 Wipeout game.  InFamous would've been a sweet deal, but that was one of the first games I bought for PS3 :P

Ha! Ohhhhhhhh Sony... Say what you will about Nintendo, at least they know how to make up for their mistakes. After Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS a few months after release they started up the Ambassador Program for the early adopters who paid more. I ended up getting 20 free games out of the deal! And they were good games too.... well worth the extra I paid.

It has to be the PS3 all the way, free online is all we need, and definitely Black Ops 2 , it's a sick game

I'd have to side with xbox. I need my Halo and generally like the xbox controller for everything but fighting games.

Need a ps3 though if you want to play fighting games, or else you will probably end up buying a joystick to get better. I always saw the benefit in free online access with ps3, but I just saw that it said I had to "purchase" and online pass to play Playstation AllStars Battle Royale online. I do remember playing fat princess online for free though so kind of confused if this is a new thing or just poor wording.

Id choose Modern warfare 3 of all the CoD, even if the only one I spent time getting better at was Modern Warfare 2. The games need online capabilities for multiple people on the same screen though or else Id probably not get the game.

I believe an online pass is the same thing as like, battlefield as started using as well as a multitude of other titles that call it something else.  The online pass is a code that is connected to your account that allows you to play (not including xbl/ps3).  This usually comes with the game but what it prevents is someone who bought the game used or hacked it to play online without said online pass.  Its wonky and makes a lot of people upset, but its becoming pretty popular these days.

also i would add that if you don't play games much, ps3 might be a good call, but if you plan on being on regularly, typically the xbox is better.  People can argue backwards compat, but if you have a ps2, jsut don't get rid of if you still want to play that stuff.  I much prefer the xbox controller as well, and wireless isn't an issue for me.

Well Xbox's backwards compatibility is nothing to shake a stick at... only a handful of games got the emulator. Not saying I have a huge desire to play old Xbox games all the time, but I still wish I could go back and play Timesplitters 2 from time to time.

Oh, and to add to the debate, Xbox has Minecraft. Win!

if ps3 were better i would say keep your old xbox and just get a ps3 also.  My argument is more just that backwards compatibility is a stupid reason to invest hundreds of dollars into a console

Ohhh, I gotcha. My bad, I read read your statement wrong...

General question for everyone: If you have both an Xbox and a PS3 (like some of you have stated you do) and a third party title comes out on both platforms, what factors influence you to buy the game for either the PS3 or the Xbox over the other? (Besides the obvious controller preference -- unless that's legit the only reason why) I don't have a Playstation and I know very little about it, so I'm honestly curious as to what would make one more preferable over the other.

Xbox hands down. I remember buying the original Xbox on day 1 of it's
launch. That system was awesome, and so is the 360. Literally the best
thing about Xbox is Xbox Live. That made the system non comparable with
PS3. When it was introduced and you could play Halo 2, or any of the
other live titles at the time, people were glued to their TVs for
    ungodly amounts of time.

I tend to get the xbox game over the ps3 game. Just love the xbox controller. I remember hating the xbox when it first came out because the original controller was worse then others because it was huge. Some people liked it though. I loved when they improved them though. Ever since I've loved the feel of xbox toggle sticks and button layout. As I mentioned in an earlier post though, if it''s an arcade fighter (or even any game that works better on a d-pad than control stick) I need a ps3. I can't do directional moves as easly on an xbox d-pad because it sits on one axis. It's essentially one huge button, whereas the ps3 has 4 separated direction pad buttons.

I'm right there with bloodbath remembering how gaming changed when xbox live came out during the halo 2 days. Finally I could get better at a game without having to invite 14 friends to hook up multiple wires, routers, tvs and xboxs just so we could all play the same game together OCCASIONALLY.

Oh and about the backwards compatibility thing with ps3 lucigen mentioned, it's even worse because only 'certain' ps3s are actually fully backwards compatible. Need to find gen1 PS3s. And you can only get the bulky system, rather than the nicer current models. Backwards compatibility is cool because its kind of annoying to have keep all your old systems on hand if you want to play an old game, especially if you move places in your life. Xbox backwards compatibility was kinda a hoax, even if some games work.

I'm pretty anti-nintendo but mostly because I spent a bunch of money on the Wii (with all the peripherals) and NEVER played it.  There were never any games that really got me wanting to play.

I have heard some good things about WiiU though.

Yeah I agree with captainkirk. even as a big Nintendo fan I rarely ever used my wii except to emulate older Nintendo games I loved. I don't play enough of either xbox or playstation to judge right but I always thought the playstation controllers were nicer and simple. I will say halo was fun when I used to play with at friends houses though

I mostly play computer games and use both controllers from time to time but it depends on the game I am playing. For me it comes down to how you enjoy the game, the system doesnt matter much. The xbox exclusive games look more appealing from my standpoint if I had to choose.

this may sound backwards, but I actually prefer paying for online service (like xbl) over free service. makes it feel much more legit. plus when youre paying for a service, it makes it a lot more difficult to for the company to take it offline for maintenance... (Im looking right at you sony)
