What was the biggest disappointment of a game for everyone? Mine was Brink, which came out in 2011 if I remember right. The game was all hype for me. I was in the stage of leaving CS:S and playing more TF2 and just needed something that felt a bit more tight and competitive. I thought Brink might be this, and bring a solid story as well..... to keep it short I hated the game and regret paying full price for it! So what is everyone's biggest disappoint of a video game? |
There's a lot of disappointments now and days, with half baked games being released. Anyways, one that comes to mind is Stronghold 3. What an epic failure. Don't think I've regretted spending money on a game more so than that one. Tons of content missing, massive bugs making it unplayable. I'm sure they have fixed some of it, however it flopped hardcore. |

Kayne and Lynch 2 flop Battlefield 3 flop - no battle recorder, Took way to long for a patch. Rent a Server is now stupid. People just ban you for no reason so they can rank up in a 8 man server with there friends. Army of Two 2 flop Skyrim........just kidding |
Sounds like someone is sour over BF3. Sounds like your playing it on console? Might I recommend the PC version. |
I would play on the PC but I can guarantee it wont run. Plus there is a lot of stuff in BF3 that dosnt compare to BF2, example 6 man squads in a 64 player map. And BF2 is perfect let alone BF3 |
My biggest disappointment is still Duke Nukem Forever. You heard me. DNF. ... I...I just can't say anything more than that. :c |
I didn't have to play to know it was bad lol it just was by looking at it. For a game like Duke Nukem it should of used a better engine. But they took to long and now 3DRealms is complete joke |
Came here to say this. |
I was never into the Duke Nukem series, just the sound clips =P. But I read enough to hear the game was just an awful mess. It's too bad, it was supposed to be a huge release. |
the poop in the toilet that was in the game signified how bad the game was |
Forever was the first one I had actually played, unfortunately. |
Hands down "Halo 2". I won't go into a wall of text here, but I gave a nice, lengthy, ten minute rant on my website :-P |
Halo Reach would of been better without armor abilities |
Was so excited for Dead Island, played about 2 hours of it and haven't touched it since. Really had some potential but in just the first 20 min of the game it froze on my twice. That and the lack of an engaging story...zombie outbreak on a deserted island should be suspenseful! |
That's funny, Dead Island was a flop. I was looking forward to it as well - lots of hype on it. Didn't turn out anything like I was hoping. Another one I was looking forward to, that didn't turn out was Command & Conquer 4. Didn't like what they did with it. |
When you get to the town (next level i guess) it's way more creepy for me. There are still so many glitches like quests that you cant do in coop and you gotta do it solo or else it freezes. I like games with coop in them so me and my friend can get achievements and talk about the day |
DNF = terrible but not the biggest disappointment that would have to be Pokemon after red, once you finished red nothing else could compare XD |
I came here to write Brink as well actually, looked like a sweet new version of TF2... and its reviews were so bad I didnt even get it :( @tyrant - that video made me so sad. I started with halo 2 (didnt get an xbox until then) loved the campaign, started playing LAN games, fantastic! Moved to 3, got XBL and had an amazing time, finally went to play 1... graphics so bad! didnt finish. Reach, Anniv (still havent finished even anniv campaign), it just doesn't hold my attention. Even though I've read all the books, I love the story, I just can't bring myself to move thru halo1. I would also argue that Halo is first and foremost a MP game, with a good campaign. It may have started the other way around but it certainly isnt now |
I was pumped for Brink and then boom it was like they said to each other "Ok how do we ruin this game and not make any money off of the DLC." the game looked and felt great at a convention video I saw. People died in half a clip (like they should in every game) and it was fine. Then it releases and everyone was like WTF did you idiots do to this thing. I was so disappointed |
For me that was a Secret World becouse it pay to play and i am all into free to play |
Man, when I was younger I went through a Harry Potter phase like no other so I was super looking forward to Quidditch World Cup. But in typical EA fashion, they messed it up horribly to leave me sourly disappointed... lol, that wound never healed. |
That is very unfortunate, the other DKs were actually pretty damn good. Never played Brink... My personal biggest failure that didn't really "fail" to the masses has to be Guild Wars 2, I still play extremely off and on (1 time a month MAYBE). |
Need For Speed Most Wanted 2 |
My brother was addicted to that game, lol. It was still fun, but yah typical EA. I was pretty disappointed when CS: Source came out. My favorite game got revamped into a better looking, worse playing FPS. I know there's another case like that, just can't think of it right now. |
I want to change my answer to this question Diablo 3 Hands down. I think its honestly an embarrassment for both blizzard and the gaming community. People bought it for the name and nostalgia... and tons of people did. It set records when it game out for game sales. And then it turned out to be garbage. It just goes to show that the gaming consumers are NOT doing their homework, love sequels, and buy from big names because they have heard of them. I hate diablo3 (and I never owned it, I played on my college buddy's account) |
Just finished Stronghold 3 and in my opinion should go to this thread |
