I just wanted to get some feedback on the video content we've been doing lately. Obviously, YouTube metrics like views, comments, and ratings are the best way of determining what people like to see. But, we also value feedback from the community. So...what do you guys think of the Daily Drop, CircleKirk, PvP, Weekly Loot, and the interview Kirk and I did on the beach? Are there any videos you particularly liked versus ones you think we might not need to waste our time on? Thanks in advance for your help! |
Love daily drop and circle Kirk! PvP and weekly Loot are a nice change of pace as well. I say do more videos like the on you did on the beach. Getting other people involved is always interesting to watch. Maybe invite other people to talk with you two ? |

I would really like to see a weekly podcast uploaded to the youtube channel that could involve editing on your part Jess. Basically you guys talk about recent events like trailers, company's being shut down etc etc but then add like rage faces and pictures from internet memes to make the video funny. Podcasting is pretty easy. Plus I see 10 hour videos on youtube so I'm pretty sure you're allowed to upload hour long podcasts. Thus eliminating PvP, CircleKirk. But you can also update on events from MMOAttack on the podcast as well. Let me know if you guys are interested and I'll talk to you about it |

Daily Drop // I like the videos and concept behind them. Wouldn't have joined MMO Attack (or knew of it for that matter) if it wasn't for your Gaming Recaps, since I followed you on over. With that said, I do think the videos are extremely short. More content should be talked about if possible. Right now your given small bits of info, and then told to go read the full article. You'll probably gain more viewers, subscribers, if you can provide enough info so people don't have to go dig around or read articles for the full scoop. Instead, they watch the Daily Drop and are suffice with the info provided. There's a lot else that could be recommended, however that's the major thing I've noticed. Circle Kirk // Nothing against Kirk, however I find the series not interesting. The concept and idea is very creative. I think it needs more work though, although it seems to be liked by others.. so maybe it's just me. I think Kirk would be better off doing other skits. The very first Circle Kirk left me mind boggled on what I had watched. Like my comment on the video, didn't get anything from the video except a headache. PVP // I agree with Proph3cy that there should be a weekly podcast. I do also think the PVP series should be converted into the podcast. Watching you both take turns saying what you dislike/like about something, is kinda weird to me. Feels way to staged to think what is being said is funny. I think having you both do a podcast, where you both can be on mic at the same time, and argue over likes and dislikes sounds much better. Also, you can bring on people from the community to give their opinions as well, such as a different person each week. This will make the show more interesting, as your adding that odd-ball variable into the mix for something fresh each week. Weekly Loot // It's fine for what it is. Beach Interviews, etc // Thought this video was enjoying to watch, and very entertaining. This is a great example of stepping out of the box. Random videos such as this, keep people entertained as they don't really know what to expect. Now if it was a series that you just interview random people on the beach - it would get old. However once in a great while is good. Now you just need to come up with another creative idea to follow up with. |

Question for bloodbath, on circlekirk what do you mean by needs more work? The concept is, i guess, to never fully have a discussion, there's just too many differences between the 'characters' for anything to fully develope on each show. When i think of a circlejerk, i think of reddit, where it's just random banter and nothing ever adds to the topic at hand. I'm not trying to re-invent anything or present anything new to the table, merely having fun with a topic in, what i would hope, to be a humerous way. I had no intent on doing videos it just kind of happened, and I know i'm not an 'actor' by any stretch, but i would hope someone could watch it through, smile for a minute and move on. In keeping the concept the same, what would you add or take out? |
Yes the concept is very good. Multiple personalities going at it over a specific topic. I'd say allow each character to give their opinions first without much interruption from the others, and then let the characters debate over it a bit, or do whatever you do. At the end of the video, have some text asking the viewers what Kirk they agreed with (and maybe why?). Also the environment is somewhat bland. I do understand you guys probably don't have much to work with. However I think it would be more entertaining if they were in their own environments or settings. Instead of acting like they are in the same room, have it like their doing it over webcams with a 3 way split screen. Also once in awhile, you could toss in a mystery guest, which is a random Kirk personality to add that odd-ball effect. Just a few ideas. I'm at work, so kinda just whipped the above up. |
appreciate the ideas, it's definitely a work in progress. I like what you have, maybe we can try that next week. Already recorded today's vid. |
Sure no problem. Yeah I know you've only done like two episodes, so I understand it's definitely a work in progress, and I'm sure at some point you'll find the right mix of ingredients. It seems to have gone over real well with the others, so I might just be overly critical in my old age. A few other ideas for the future, to make it more interactive with the community - - Announce the topic of the CircleKirk a few days or even a week before, and get people's opinions or thoughts through twitter. Then include some of those in the video as well. You can even use some of those, to fuel your 3 way debate or argument. Like Bob from twitter thinks this, do you guys agree. - Have people tweet questions for the different Kirks, and those could be answered during the video. You can come up with some interesting and funny comments and answers for the questions, to make it entertaining. Had some others but forgot em. |
I have enjoyed all the videos! And I agree that it's nice that you occasionally switch to different formats, like the Beach video and the CircleKirk videos. I do think the CircleKirk Videos are funny. I also like the mean but funny comments on PvP and Weekly Loot. For example, "If it takes you an hour to eat cereal, there's something wrong with you." |
Bloodbath (and everyone else, really) - thanks SO much for all your valuable feedback. Based on your comments and those of others, I think here's what we're tentatively planning moving forward: Daily Drop: Have already begun to make them longer and more detailed. CircleKirk: This is actually our video segment that seems to be performing the best, so we'll leave it as is :) PvP: I like the idea of a podcast, but for now I think we're going to try what everyone's been suggesting and do it more fluidly, without cutting back and forth. Weekly Loot: We've never gotten an overwhelming reaction either way to this, so I think we're going to nix this for now, in favor of other video content like skits or other things that are purely for entertainment. As for interviews, I'm glad people enjoyed the beach one we did. We're definitely not planning to make interviews a regular or scheduled thing, necessarily - instead, whenever we have them, we'll post them! For instance, as you may have heard, I'll be interviewing The Behemoth soon. And Kirk and I are planning to head up to Irvine for the Diablo III official midnight launch, so we'll hopefully get to interview some devs then :) Thanks again for everyone's feedback! |
Interviews with Diablo III devs ? Definitely a great idea Jess ! Flirt with them if that's what it takes, sacrifices for the team ! |
Obviously I'm extremely new to MMO Attack overall. But I have seen tons of Daily Drop videos, which I enjoy and find VERY informative--not to mention entertaining. I saw my first episode of CircleKirk and it was hilarious! I left a comment saying how I was confused at first! Haha, it took me a bit to realize that there were THREE Kirks!! But it was great and I'm starting to explore the realm of MMO Attack's YouTube channel! So far everything I've watched has been quite entertaining and I can tell the amount of time and effort that goes into them ^_^ |
We need Team Brohard, Team Kirk and Team Kyle t-shirts. Why Jess's last name? umm because it's awesome!? derp |
I'm a triplettt |
As far as i understand... the weekly Loot is probably your most successful segment of your videos, to be honest i'm clueless in the circlekirk yet it does try to do some interesting ideas. |
everyone is clueless about the circlekirk. Especially kirk |
That's the whole point of the video, at least I would think so. A circlejerk (and I assume what Kirk was trying to get at with "CircleKirk") is trying to talk about something (in this case gaming) but not necessarily doing so and then getting off topic and talk about unrelated things. I find it rather entertaining. |
hahah... its entertainign though |
