Diablo 3: Open Beta witnessed 300,000 players at same time

Diablo 3 makes a huge hit over the weekend. The Blizzard community was shocked by the amount of fans played the game over the free open beta weekend that has just passed. The Community Manager, Bashiok, was asked to give an approximate number of how many beta players there were.

He tweeted, "I think we peaked at around 300k concurrent [users]".

Some players found it difficult to login since the game, in order to gain access, needs an internet connection. Blizzard advised players to keep trying despite constant log-in errors.

The game officially launches on Tuesday, May 15th.
