Drakensang Online Celebrates First Anniversary
So Drakensang is now a year old. To me it seems like the game has been out a lot longer than that, but alas, I would be mistaken. Today Bigpoint, the masterminds behind Drakensang, announced that their hit free to play MMO game has surpassed ten million registered players worldwide since the game’s launch one year ago. To celebrate the milestone coinciding with the title’s first anniversary, Bigpoint is giving away 250 units of powerful Ancient Wisdom to all players who registered for the game’s newsletter, followed by a series of community-oriented competitions. Drakensang Online is Bigpoint’s leading free-to-play, hack-n-slash action-MMORPG playable on any web browser.
“Within a short period, Drakensang Online has achieved many accomplishments and grown in remarkable ways,” said Bernd Beyreuther, Head of Game Development, Bigpoint Berlin. “We’re proud to keep the community involved throughout its development and are excited to give them the opportunity to contribute their own creations to the game. The game would not be a success without the support of the community – that’s why we want to celebrate this occasion with more in-game rewards and festivities!”
Within the past year, Drakensang Online has received massive content updates including the introduction of a third character class (Ranger Class), PvP mode, pet and mounts, talent tree and crafting, teleportation feature, Norseland and Loxley Caverns map expansion, and vast new regions to explore in the recent Atlantis update. The game has quadrupled the amount of gaming content available since its open beta launch with hundreds of new levels, quests, monsters, bosses, skills, weapons and armor.
Drakensang Online consistantly shows up on our top 10 lists again and again because well, the game is awesome!
