Firefly Studios unleashing Stronghold HD in November
Hold on to something strategy fans because Firefly Studios has just announced Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusaders HD.
Both Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader HD will be updating the classic castle building games from Firefly Studios with high definition graphics and the ability to view an entire battlefield on a single screen. The medieval strategy games have been updated in order to support resolutions that go up to 2560x1600. The new HD battlefield view allows players to zoom out and play in real time with an entire map on the one screen.
The Stronghold HD game will consist of 21 missions and four renegade lords to -overthrow. The missions range from breaking sieges and capturing enemy castles to raising gold and holding off enemy attacks. The ultimate goal is to reunite Medieval England. There is also another campaign mode that revolves around economics where players gather resources and build weapons within a certain time limit.
Stronghold Crusaders HD moves from Europe to the Middle East during the First, Second and Third Crusades. This Stronghold adventure will introduce villainous AI opponents, new units, new characters 4 historical campaigns and over 100 new missions to go through. Stronghold Crusaders HD will come packaged with Stronghold Warchest and Stronghold Crusader Extreme, including an increased unit cap of 10,000, new missions and special Tactical Powers.
Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader were both released in 2001 and 2002 with a lot of success.

Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader HD are set for digital release on GOG, Amazon, GetGames and other notable online retailers on November 1st, 2012.
