Image of Petition To Free League Of Legends Players Reaches 100k

Some of you may have read a story earlier in the year which detailed the arrest of a young League of Legends player after a comment on Facebook. Despite appearing to be absolutely ridiculous to most of the online gaming community the situation continues to escalate. Justin Carter, the individual in question, has been in a Texas prison for several months since making the comment on Facebook.

His mother, Jennifer Carter, has since created a petition on Change.org asking for support from the community to help free her son. The petition has already amassed over 100,000 signatures. The petition is aimed at the District Attorney of Comal County, Texas, the Texas State Attorney General and President Barack Obama, asking all three to do what they can to help free Justin Carter. The young gamer is apparently on suicide watch and has been placed in solitary confinement.

"My son, Justin Carter, was arrested on February 14, 2013 (yes, Valentine?s Day) because of a sarcastic comment he posted on Facebook about a computer game which was then taken out of context by a complete stranger! Please sign my petition to help release my son, Justin."

Justin's parents need to raise 10% of the $500,000 bond in order to get him released. Those wishing to pledge their support can purchase t-shirts or give donations on the official website here.
