League of Legends exceeds 12 million daily players
Riot Games has released a new Infographic that details the usership statistics for League of Legends and they claim that the free-to-play online multiplayer game is the “most played game in the world”.
Riot brags that they currently have 12 million “active” participants, although it is not clear what defines the word active. Furthermore, Riot said the game has 32 million monthly “active” accounts and a total of 70 million registered users.
Riot continues to go on about their player-base by saying that the peak concurrent amount of players was 3 million at one point. The number was taken from the average number of players simultaneously online during a “typical” day in the month of July 2012.
Last but not least, Riot said that over 90 percent of the League of Legends players are male and 85 of total players are between the ages of 16 and 30. They also made the claim that 60 percent are currently enrolled in college or have completed “some” college.
