MMOpinion | What keeps you playing an MMO long term?

It seems to be a fairly common complaint these days, that all these new MMOs have no staying power. There's nothing that will keep you entertained past the max level.
So tell me, what keeps you playing an MMO long term? Do you believe that new MMOs don't have the same staying power? What was it about the older generation of MMO's that kept everyone playing for years?
