Over the weekend, Riot released details and artwork for a new, upcoming League of Legends champion named Ao Shin. Ao Shin is said to be a powerful storm dragon and the guardian of the natural world.
Riot always seeks to push what is technically and creatively possible for the game, and the creation of Ao Shin is no exception. On the topic, a producer for the game went on to state, ?One of the challenges we?re looking forward to tackling is how to capture his unique anatomy and movement in a way that brings a new dimension to the champion pool.?
Two images displaying early artwork versions of Ao Shin were released alongside the announcement. One image displays the bearded dragon in full color with steaks of lightning/electricity generating from his body, while the other shows off some of the powers and storm abilities the champion will have in store (including one vicious looking electric tornado).
This is an exciting announcement and one that is sure to please the community, as players have long been requesting a dragon champion to take into the battle arena. Sadly, Riot has made it clear that Ao Shin is still fairly early in development and will not be the next champion released. Regardless, it's always a pleasant surprise to get a preview of what?s to be expected down the League pipeline.
Now it's time for you guys to sound off. Are you excited for the new dragon champion, or were you hoping for something more? Let us know in the comments below!
