Nexon Financial Report Shows Strong Performance

Nexon
Nexon is something of a free MMO behemoth, with several successful games and millions of active players. In fact, Nexon owns what is likely the biggest MMO on the market?MapleStory. According to numbers released by the company early this week, things are only looking up for investors.

Nexon revealed that sales rose 26% in 2011, with the company earning 87,613 million yen. The report also revealed some juicier information, namely that the company is working on sequels to both MapleStory and Mabinogi.

MapleStory 2 will be fully 3D, in stark contrast to its 3D origins. The game is being developed by Wizlet and is Nexon?s primary focus at the moment. Mabinogi 2 was also confirmed to be entering the 3D realm, with development helmed by Lodumani and Ndoors.

No release information was available for either title, but you can bet you?ll be hearing more about these games as development moves forward. In the meantime, it looks like Nexon is going strong and will continue to perform well into 2012, especially if it manages to launch a couple of new games.

Are you a fan of free MMOs like Mabinogi and MapleStory, or do you prefer your role-playing games to be a little more realistic?
