Square Enix today announced that the long-awaited character transfers for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn are now available. Many players expected to see the service launch closer to the release but the record-breaking launch left Square Enix with a bucket load of technical issues to solve first. However good times lay ahead and today marks the first serious step towards actually adding content and features to Final Fantasy XIV.
Those looking to transfer their characters will be faced with an $18 charge for each character they wish to transfer. Even if you want to transfer two characters from the same server, you’ll have to pay to use the service twice. Several other restrictions are in place including Free Company registration and a 1 million Gil transfer limit.
