Last week Games Workshop and Mythic Entertainment officially ended the run of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, but that may not be the end of the story. Former Mythic Entertainment developer, Andrew Meggs, recently posted a statement in which he pleads with Electronic Arts and Games Workshop to release Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning in its offline state.
In the statement Meggs explains how offline testing was a vital part of the development process and speculates that launching such a version would be as simple as uploading a previous client with the offline state enabled.
If such a plea was heard the game would be void of all other players, NPC's and other elements of an MMO - basically offering players a large 3D world to explore. Outside of offering old players a trip down memory lane such a project would also be greeted warmly by past developers, who will always be able to explore what they spent so long creating.
